Our Story
Here’s the story — and what we’re building instead.
We see a pattern where companies will start a project without fully understanding or calling out the unknown unknowns — a “we’ll figure it out” that leads to rushed, last-minute sprints and war rooms prior to the deadline. This is something we mitigate with a process of clear communication and calling out the potential for unknown unknowns with full transparency on what could put project completion at risk — leading to a much clearer, de-stressed experience than the alternative.
Our founders spent their careers as engineers at Apple, then built and scaled their own startups through Y Combinator more than once. That combination shapes how Infinite Build operates day to day: we’ve been the team shipping under pressure, and we’ve been the founders accountable for the outcome.
Most firms plan as though everything in software is predictable. It isn’t, and pretending otherwise is part of the problem. So we draw a clear line between predictable and unpredictable work, and we call out the unpredictable parts upfront instead of discovering them later.
Calling out the unknowns early changes the relationship with a client. It builds trust, and it makes pitfalls or reasons for delay an expected part of the process — not a shock and a negative experience for business stakeholders.
To empower early-stage technical teams to scale their businesses leveraging the power of reliable software engineering with processes forged at the highest levels of the Silicon Valley. A future where no founder has to choose between building fast and building right, because Infinite Build is already embedded on their team.
“Embedded” is a different relationship than “vendor.” A vendor takes a spec and disappears until delivery. We join your team, your tools, and your standups — genuinely invested in what ships, not just the hours billed. And because we call out risk honestly instead of overpromising, our clients can point to real, de-risked progress — exactly the kind of proof that unlocks the next round of budget or investment.
This isn’t “better than X agency.” We built Infinite Build because we’d lived the alternative and knew it didn’t work. Realism over optimism in planning is the throughline: predictable work gets planned as predictable, unpredictable work gets flagged as unpredictable, and nobody gets blindsided in week eleven.
That standard comes directly from the founders’ own experience — shipping at scale at Apple, and building repeatedly through Y Combinator. Both experiences taught the same lesson from different angles: the teams that succeed are the ones that plan for reality, not for the best case.
This is why we started Infinite Build, and this is who we’re building it for: founders and technical leaders who’d rather know the truth about their roadmap than be reassured by one. If that’s where you are, take a look at how embedded engineering works — or, if you know a founder who needs this, you can refer them here.
